Ideas for travelling solo
1. Read the question, then go away and do nothing for a bit. That’s right! Just sit with the question in the back of your mind, see how it flourishes while you get on with life. You might even find someone who has a few ideas to offer, so share the question if you like.
2. Select the question and watch the video with the aim of finding one new idea, and one old idea.
3. Then take a look at the questions…bleep over a few of them (there are more questions than you have time for that’s for sure! So, pick the ones that interest you).
4. Use a few of the resources you have to make connections: you might remember a Bible story, or a sermon, or an image that relates.
5. Take a few notes, and then be still.
6. At the end of your time, pray.
Its up to you how often you do this during Advent. There may be enough videos to do 3 or 4 per week. Remember that there are more questions than you need, so choose those that really speak to you
Journaling
We’d recommend recording your ideas in case you come up with something new and fab. Imagine this: you are blogging, or vlogging, or journaling and someone likes the way you make a point shine...keep your notes so that you can make a movie out of them!
Off course, journaling is one way to reflect on new ideas and balance old ones into positive faith formation!
If you are new to keeping journals, take a look at Day One app for Mac or ios users or diarium or if you’d like more options, here’s a handy 'top 10' article.
You might like to use ‘walk this way’ to become more familiar with the way you make meaning, the factors that influence your thinking, and the ways you can contribute your experience. Consider the idea that every person is a meaning-maker. See Dr Peter Kline’s amazingly clear and engaging explanation of this "What are hermeneutics?". Look out for the link to Greek mythology!
