Australians Together is a terrific website filled with resources for churches to build reconciliation. Here's what the site says...
Australians Together is a SEED IDEA
Australians Together is a fresh approach to building relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians that seeks to plant a seed in peoples’ hearts and minds; the idea that Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians can live in respectful, peer relationships with each other.
Importantly, Australians Together is not about fixing problems; it is about shifting our approach to one another in order to build positive, healthy relationships marked by humility, respect and love.
Australians Together is a JOURNEY
This seed idea involves listening to Indigenous people, learning about our shared history, and living together as partners, peers and friends.
We have developed free resources to support you should you choose to embark on this journey of listening, learning and living together in respectful relationship:
WATCH SHARING OUR STORY, a four-episode DVD series that examines how the events of our past continue to affect the lives of Indigenous people in our current generation
HEAR stories about the real experiences of our Indigenous brothers and sisters
READ about policies, events, and people who have had a significant impact on the lives of Indigenous Australians
EXPLORE our MAP and learn about this nation and your local area from a different perspective
ATTEND events that might be the start of building awareness and new relationships
JOIN IN by continuing to learn more about Indigenous culture and explore how you can build relationships with local Indigenous people
The website is created by Concilia, a Christian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.
Looks great!
