You don't have to be a mega-church to be an authentic church community - one that welcomes with an open and non-judgemental smile, a metaphorical embrace that invites, reciprocates and says ‘we are willing to learn about you and from you’. Research into parish communities and their habits of welcome suggest that groups who are open to grow and change with newcomers are communities that reflect the surrounding population, and so become a place where people feel at home, where people invite their friends.
Christmas often brings new people to a parish. Consider the potential for growth in a parish, not just in numbers, but in character, direction, emphasis, were these people to make it their home.
MISSION360: Opening the Circle explores ways to make space for newcomers. Ready for 2020, this day-long workshop will encourage and challenge your community to be Jesus to those on the fringes. Its a fun, active and hands-on day! Check out the 360Project modules here: about the 360Project
