Stories form us - the stories we hear and adopt, and those we choose to tell. Often we hear ourselves telling the same stories about our triumphs and faith. The most compelling can be about hurt and injustice.
Gareth Higgins, in his book “how not to be afraid” (deliberate lack of capital letters!) gently offers a way to break open our stories to allow transformation and renewed perspective. Higgins identifies seven common fears, and seven ways to live when the stories we hear and retell are full of worry and dread. Higgins examine key fears, including being alone, brokenness, not having enough and invites blessing and light in. Happy sigh.
