Mary C. Earle is an Episcopalian priest in Texas, who writes and speaks about prayer and spirituality, (and gardening and pets among other things!) Earle’s book the Desert Mothers is an engaging re-discovery of the tradition of holy women living in the wilderness of the deserts of northern Egypt to give themselves to a life of prayer. It is a “personal and profound invitation to the practice of prayer” and is a great introduction to the rest of her work. Check out her blog at www.marycearle.com and spend some time with the migratory Monarch butterflies and a resurrected heirloom climbing rose. Make a cuppa first though, you’ll want some time to enjoy Mary’s thoughts.
