If the most crucial location for faith formation is within the family, what will your families do over lent to prepare for Holy Week together?
Traci Smith of Seamless Faith fame has prepared this Lenten calendar of activities to help families answer that question.
The calendar provides a daily activity or subject for reflection. I appreciate that it takes the busy lives of families into account. If the suggested activity early in the season is to buy food for a local food bank, the activity for a few days later is to deliver that food to the food bank. Each activity or prayer prompt sets the stage for reflection and conversation. Traci’s Lenten offering helps individuals and families find meaningful answers to the question, “What should I give up or take on for Lent?” by outlining a season’s worth of ways that children and adults can engage in the Lenten practices of prayer, fasting and service.
